About this event

Quinta do Lago's South Course hosts the Tiago Sousa Memorial Golf Tournament, a parent-and-child event held in memory of Tiago Sousa, a former member of the resort's Paul McGinley Golf Academy and Junior Club who died in March 2022 in a car accident that also killed five college golf teammates and their coach in the United States. The format pairs a parent with a child, or a grandparent with a grandchild, with no age limit on the adult and no restriction beyond under-18 for the child. Funds raised go towards the Tiago Sousa Golf Project, run with the Paul McGinley Golf Academy, Quinta do Lago and the Portuguese Golf Federation to bring golf coaching to schoolchildren. Play starts at 08:00 and runs through to 16:00. Bookings go through Quinta do Lago's events team.
