On the first Sunday of September, Vila Real de Santo Antonio marks the feast of its patroness, Nossa Senhora da Encarnacao, with a religious procession that sets out from the parish church in Praca Marques de Pombal and winds through the historic centre.
The day closes with live music in the square and a fireworks display over the town.
Entry to all parts of the celebration is free.
