For five nights, Praça dos Pescadores in the old town swaps its usual café tables for the look of a North African souk. Festival Al-Buhera, named after the Arabic root of Albufeira's own name, fills the square with dozens of craft stalls selling leather goods, cork, copper and brass work, basketry, textiles, candles and soaps, alongside street food. The craft market runs nightly from 19:00 to midnight, and each evening closes with a free concert on the festival stage at 22:00, running from local bands through to national acts across the five nights. Entry to the square, market and concerts is free. It is one of Albufeira's longest-running summer events and draws a steady mix of residents and holidaymakers into the old town after dark.
