Wild View Retreat

Wild View Retreat occupies a manor house built in 1898 by a Portuguese Army general in Corgas Bravas, deep in the Serra do Caldeirão hills near São Brás de Alportel. Founders Andrew Finlay, a UK nutritional therapist and yoga teacher, and his wife Erika Rodriguez rebuilt the property between 2016 and 2018 and have run it as a retreat since 2018, hosting around 12 week-long retreats and more than 400 guests a year, with a 5.0 rating across 531 reviews. The programme centres on 7-night Healthy Food and Yoga retreats and Nutrition and Juicing detox weeks, with yoga twice daily and nutrition support from BANT-registered nutritional therapists who are also CNHC members. Prices for 2026 run from EUR 1,199 to EUR 2,199 depending on the room, which ranges from twin and double ensuites to a triple room, a yurt and a shepherd's hut. Massages are EUR 80 per hour, transfers EUR 80 per person, and returning guests and those who bring a friend each get EUR 100 off. The venue can also be hired exclusively for private or corporate groups of up to 30, and closes each December and January. The retreat's press recognition includes the Guardian's Top 10 Retreats for Mind, Body and Soul (2019), Best Wellness Retreat Portugal 2022/23 at the Prestige Awards, and a place in Telegraph Travel's best retreats for solo travellers in 2019.
