The Punter

Just off the marina in Vilamoura, The Punter is built as a recreation of a traditional 1830s Irish pub, with fittings shipped over from Ireland and the walls filled with memorabilia from old Dublin bars. Live music plays every evening from 9pm in a cosy, personal setting, which regulars say beats the bigger, more impersonal pubs around the harbour. The pub's own summer price board lists a pint or caneca from EUR 3 and a pint of Guinness at EUR 4.50 after 7pm. The drinks line up runs to Guinness imported directly from Ireland, Kilkenny stout and Strongbow cider alongside lagers, wines, cocktails and champagne, served at an air conditioned lounge bar with free WiFi and a sunny outdoor terrace. The Punter is open seven days a week from 11am to 2am. It does not serve snacks or tapas, so it's best treated as a drinking and listening spot rather than a food stop.
