O Teodósio - Rei dos Frangos has been grilling piri-piri chicken in Guia since 1982, one of the pioneering houses of the Algarve's "Frango à Guia" tradition. The restaurant sits on Rua Emigrante in Guia, with two dining rooms (one on the ground floor seating 380, a second upstairs seating 200) and a private car park for 600 vehicles. Chicken is grilled over charcoal at an open grilling station, and the restaurant also runs a dedicated take-away counter and an esplanade bar in front of the building serving Sharish gin alongside the food. Regional desserts are on the menu, with the restaurant's own site highlighting Dom Rodrigo as a speciality. The kitchen is open daily from 12:00 to 15:00 and 18:30 to 22:30; between June and September the restaurant does not take reservations, given the volume of walk-in trade.
