MekaYoga

MekaYoga is a yoga retreat centre at Soalheiros, near Vila do Bispo and Sagres, inside the Costa Vicentina natural park at the far western tip of the Algarve. It was founded in 2016 by Harmke Bijker, who runs the centre with her husband Michaël Bijker, and was named Best Yoga Retreat in Portugal 2023 at the Travel and Hospitality Awards. Retreat weeks of six to seven nights run from April to November, built around yoga twice a day plus breathwork and meditation, with some weeks adding martial arts, surf sessions or guided nature walks along the wild west coast. Guests stay at the centre's own villa, with private and shared ensuite rooms, a pool and an outdoor yoga deck, and meals are plant-based, prepared in the retreat's kitchen. Retreat dates are published on the site with online booking, and the team can be reached by phone or email for questions before reserving a place.
