LAGOS MMFEST

LAGOS MMFEST is the modern music festival of Lagos, held each August by the sea at Praia da Luz. Over three evenings the festival brings a varied programme of modern music, from pop, rock, funk and soul through to jazz, played against one of the western Algarve's most beautiful seafronts. The festival is organised by the Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos, a musicians' association based at the Espaco Jovem in Lagos, with the support of the municipality. It has two sides that feed each other: a pedagogical programme and the concerts themselves. In the week before the festival, the Lagos Music Summer Camp gives young musicians aged 12 and up an intensive week of instrument lessons, combo rehearsals, masterclasses and workshops, and the camp ends with its students performing on the festival's main stage in front of a real audience. The 2026 edition runs from 14 to 16 August at the Miradouro da Praia da Luz, with the Summer Camp taking place from 10 to 14 August at the Escola EB 2,3 Tecnopolis in Lagos. Acts announced so far include Femme Falafel, whose debut album crosses jazz, hip-hop, disco, house and Brazilian popular music, and Bom Balanco, who bring jazz with Latin and Brazilian rhythms to the Rocha Negra stage, with the rest of the lineup being announced through the summer.
