Heather Bain Massage

Heather Bain Massage is a massage and facial studio in the centre of Lagos, on the first floor of a traditional building by Gil Eanes Square, at Rua Gil Eanes No 19. Owner Heather moved to Portugal almost 12 years ago from Scotland, where she had worked as a social worker; she later trained as a massage therapist after becoming involved in Lagos's surf and wellness retreat scene, and now holds qualifications in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, pregnancy massage and skincare facial therapy, and works as a Hypnobirthing and birth trauma recovery practitioner. She now leads a small team that includes Noemi (Ayurvedic, Swedish, deep tissue massage and Reiki), Lizzi (aromatherapy, Swedish, deep tissue, Lomi Lomi and Ayurvedic massage and Reiki) and Bella (naturopathy, nutrition, holistic, facial and pregnancy massage, and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi). Treatments on offer include Swedish, deep tissue, sports, pre and post-natal, Ayurvedic and Lomi Lomi massage, plus couples massage in a double treatment room. Facials use products from Pai and Facetheory, both B-Corp certified brands chosen for being organic, vegan and ethically sourced. Clients can book a studio appointment or a home visit; the mobile service covers Lagos, Praia da Luz, Burgau, Budens, Odiaxere and Salema, with the therapist bringing the massage bed, towels and oils, and a 4-person minimum for bookings further afield.
