Clinica Veterinaria Vilamoura & Boliqueime

Clínica Veterinária Vilamoura & Boliqueime is a two-site small animal practice founded by Dr Bruno Silva, who qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) in 2003 and opened the Vilamoura clinic in 2005 before adding the Boliqueime branch in 2014 to serve Boliqueime, Paderne, Parragil, Benfarras and Albufeira. The clinical team, including Dr Ana Sanches (UTAD, 2002), rotates between both sites so patients are looked after wherever they are seen. Vilamoura is the group's main clinic, handling the more demanding cases with in-house radiology, ultrasound, general and orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, and acupuncture and pain control. Boliqueime covers consultations, vaccinations, a pet shop, radiology, ultrasound, general surgery and acupuncture, plus a small cat hotel with space for 5 animals. Between them the practice also treats cardiology, dermatology, dental (estomatology) cases, exotic pets, neurology, internal medicine, physiotherapy and microchipping, and runs a dog and cat grooming service (banhos e tosquias). For owners who can't get to the clinic, the Home Vet (Domicílios) service brings consultations, vaccinations, treatment follow-up and transport to and from the clinic directly to the owner's home, along with end-of-life care in a familiar setting. A veterinary emergency line runs every day of the year, and the practice is accredited by the Ordem dos Médicos Veterinários (the Portuguese veterinary regulator). Both clinics open Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm; Vilamoura also opens Saturdays 9am to 5pm. Sundays are reserved for the emergency service only.
