Cerro Novo

Cerro Novo is the oldest licensed real estate agency based in Albufeira, tracing its roots back to 1964 when Ronald Edwards and his son Allan began developing the Cerro Grande urbanisation on the western edge of the town. In 1981 Allan Edwards and his new business partner, Susan Bland, set up a property management and letting company on the same site, and the estate agency side of the business followed shortly after. Today the agency is run by three partners: Allan Edwards, founding partner since 1981, Robert Edwards, director and partner since 1988, and Ana Penisga Amorim, managing partner since 2000. The company holds real estate licence AMI 860 and works from its offices at Rua Samora Barros, Cerro Grande, Loja 7, in Albufeira. In 2026, on its 45th anniversary, Cerro Novo became the international affiliate in the Algarve for Hamptons International. The team handles buying, selling and renting across the Algarve, with dedicated multilingual consultants and a private-listings service for sellers who prefer not to advertise their property publicly. Property management, including full management of rental properties, is run separately through Cerro Novo Administração de Bens Imóveis, Lda, headed by Lesley Cuss. The company also advises buyers on tax benefits and the D7 visa route into Portugal. Cerro Novo marked its 35th anniversary in 2016 with an event for more than 450 guests, clients, friends, lawyers and staff, and its 40th in 2021. The agency's current portfolio spans Albufeira, Lagoa, Guia and the wider central Algarve, from apartments and townhouses to villas and building plots.
