"Atrito Nulo" Exhibition

We live in the age of infinite scrolling, inhabiting a state of Zero Friction: information glides past us without transforming us, turning us into polished surfaces to which nothing adheres. It is the opposite of resistance. In this exhibition, three young artists who have recently graduated from the University of the Algarve — Iara, Morgana and Sandra — turn to art as a space for slowing down in the face of this numbing speed. Their works emerge as gestures of resistance. By countering the invisible flow of everyday life, they seek to create permanence, restore depth to matter and re-establish friction so that art may once again have a real impact.
