XXVI Semana Coral de Lagoa: Portuguese Choral Music Week, 17 to 24 May 2026

The 26th edition of Lagoa's choral-music week returns with three concerts featuring six choirs across Igreja Matriz de Lagoa, Igreja Matriz de Porches and Auditório Carlos do Carmo, 17 to 24 May 2026.

Semana Coral de Lagoa is one of the Algarve's longest-running cultural institutions and a cornerstone of the Convento de São José choral tradition. This edition brings together Grupo Vocal Olisipo, Coro Geral AE Bemposta, Coral Ideias do Levante, Bella Acapella, VoxAradeXXV and the host choir for three dedicated concerts.

Venues rotate between the historic parish churches of Lagoa and Porches, which offer the resonant acoustics choral music demands, plus the modern Auditório Carlos do Carmo for the closing concert. All performances are free, subject to venue capacity. Recommended age 6 and up.

Concert programme:

• 17 May, Igreja Matriz de Lagoa: opening concert.
• 20 May, Igreja Matriz de Porches: mid-week concert in the historic parish church.
• 24 May, Auditório Carlos do Carmo, Lagoa: closing concert.
• Choirs: Grupo Vocal Olisipo, Coro Geral AE Bemposta, Coral Ideias do Levante, Bella Acapella, VoxAradeXXV.
• Free entry, subject to venue capacity.
