Browse the internet for the Algarve, and you will find two very different worlds.
There is the “Expat Algarve”—websites in English, focused on golf resorts, international schools, and businesses run by other expats.
Then there is the “Local Algarve”—businesses that have served their communities for generations, often with no website, relying on word-of-mouth in Portuguese.
For too long, these two worlds have operated in parallel bubbles. We believe that is a missed opportunity for everyone.
Bursting the Bubble
Algarve Circle was built on a simple, powerful idea: Global but Local.
Our mission is to be the first platform that truly connects the entire region. We are building the bridge.
-
For international residents, we are unlocking the “hidden gems”—the incredible local tradespeople, restaurants, and artisans that you won’t find on other directories because they don’t speak English. We are translating their excellence for a global audience.
-
For local Portuguese businesses, we are providing a modern, world-class digital platform to showcase their work to a high-intent international audience that is eager to support the local economy.
The 43-Town Strategy
We aren’t just focusing on the “Golden Triangle.” Our platform is built around a comprehensive database of all 43 main towns and villages across the Algarve. From the surf coast of the west to the Spanish border in the east, and the rustic interior hills.
Every business is rooted in its local community, but connected to a regional network.
We are launching in English to serve the immediate needs of the international community, but full European Portuguese localization is our top priority for Phase 2. We are building a bilingual ecosystem where commerce flows freely, regardless of language.
If you believe that a stronger, more connected Algarve is better for business, join us.
